ITOLOGIE N°32 - A WELSH IN THE WOODS
Many winters ago, my family and I met a little, dark terrier, in a gloomy, snowy day. He only cared about playing with us kids, he didn’t beg for warmth nor food. No one was in sight and we couldn’t possibly leave him there, behind us on that white field. We opened the door and, as soon as we called him in chorus, he jumped right into our lives. Because he had a red blooded cut on his nose, his name became Tayo (cut in Triestine dialect). We never found out where he came from and who lost him, certainly a hunter who trained him in being fiercely dangerous with anything that moved. Foxes, squirrels, birds and rats didn’t miss him in the forrest.
